Upcoming release with Silver Publishing!

Published September 20, 2013 by ellenheights

Watch out for my fabulous new Urban Fantasy/MF erotic short story (11k), to be released on October 26th just in time for Halloween! The Night Shift sees Gwen fall in love with Shifter Jason, before becoming entangled in the feuds between the shifters and werewolves while their newly-blossomed relationship hangs in the balance.

I may have another sale to announce too, but -excited as I am- nothing’s been signed yet. So I cannae tell, what with it being bad practice and all. But there are things cookin’, rest assured.

Watch this space. 😉

Oh God, oh God. Now I’d gone and done it. I’d unconsciously invited him into my cubicle and now he must be thinking I was some sort of slut. All right, I had intended to lead him on a little, but not like that.

Or had I? Had that been my intention, deep down? Had the mysterious woman who’d taken up residence inside me changed my mind as well as my voice?

I decided it was the dress’s fault. With the zip still undone, I advanced to the curtain with the intention of apologising, or excusing myself, or something. Anything. It might have meant the end of our date before it had even started, but it was better than nothing. Why hadn’t I gotten the hang of this stuff yet?

I was reaching for the curtain when it suddenly opened. He stepped in and closed it behind him.

I stared up at him, smelling his cologne, breathing in his scent. That look was still in his eyes, and I was still in my dress. . Breathe, just breathe.

I’d opened my lips to speak, with no idea what I was going to say, when he grabbed me by the hips and kissed me.

Just like I’d dreamed, his stubble rasped against my skin, and his hands were warm and his lips strong and moist. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his neck and delved in, my tongue sliding softly against his, my hands running through his hair.

I didn’t register what was happening, and I didn’t want to. I just wanted to keep feeling the way I was, my whole body exploding, my pussy moistening at the very touch of him. I didn’t even think of Roxanne catching us in this dressing room, fumbling around inside the only cubicle with its curtain closed. Someone only needed to enter the room and hear us…

Forget about it. Enjoy the moment.

He breathed heavily through his nose, and his kiss became more passionate. He slipped a hand inside my dress and touched my skin, the small of my back, the swell of my buttocks. He pulled his hand out and hoisted the dress up onto my hips, feeling all over me with his large, wandering hands. All the while he was kissing me with those strong, strong lips.

“Maybe we shouldn’t,” I whispered when we came up for air. I felt like I had to say something; this was completely crazy. But that wasn’t what I wanted, and my whole body was screaming that fact. He paused, holding me close to him, waiting for me to decide. I kissed him again. “Don’t stop,” I said.

He carried on kissing me, groping me, feeling me all over. At some point he slid down my knickers and they dropped to the floor. Now he had free rein of my lower body, and his hands explored all over…   ~

December Promo Scavenger Hunt With Free Holiday Story Book Give Away and Site Wide Discount Code Scramble

Published November 21, 2012 by ellenheights

Hi guys! So, my story Three Men and a Christmas Goddess will be published during the Christmas season with Silver Publishing, how have this exciting give away going on. You can win free ebooks and discount codes! READ ON OR YOU’LL MISS OUT! 🙂

Ellen x

Happy holidays! Silver Publishing wants to give our fans more than 60 chances to win either a free Holiday Story from our 25 Days of Christmas Releases or for a lucky random five 20% off codes! And if you are really dedicated there is a Word Scramble included that will provide a discount for titles purchased during the last week of December!

To make it even more exciting, the authors participating may offer new and interesting content or contests of their own to help distract from the frantic pace of the holidays.

So, how does it work?

In a nutshell: Find all the snowflakes every day, email us at with the author name/date for each snowflake you find, check our blog daily to see if you won and then use the pertinent snowflakes to spell out an additional discount code to use at the end of the month.

Not in a nutshell: Participants go to the following blogs every day in December and find the hidden snowflakes. There will be at least two, sometimes three snowflakes to be found among the list of facebook/blogs/websites below for our authors. The snowflake will look like a variation of this:

Find them all for the maximum amount of chances to win.

Once you find the snowflake, note the letter, number or character as well as the numerical indicator (if present) on the snowflake for the scramble. The numbered snowflakes will line up to spell out your discount code.

Email us at with the name of the blog/website where the snowflakes were hidden on that date.

Important email format: Please put only the name of one author and the date in your subject line – for maximum chances to win, each snowflake/author found should be its own email for an increased daily chance to win.

If your email subject line includes the correct answer you will be entered into a random drawing to win the Christmas Release for the day you found the snowflake. There will be at least 2 winners per day; five days there will be 3 winners.

Winners will be notified in our new BLOG here: = (bookmark this link so that you can check back each day.) If you are the winner for that day, email us with your email address and format desired to so that we can get your prize to you quickly.

Helpful hints: Some authors will have more than one snowflake during the event. But authors will only post one snowflake per day so search them all every day. Don’t leave any out for maximum chances to win.

Once you have found all the snowflakes, line up the letters, characters and numbers based on the numerical indicator (when present) to spell out our Holiday message and receive a discount code that will be active from Dec 25 – 31st.

Not every participating author has a Holiday release but you’ll want to collect the snowflake on their site for another chance to win the story being released that day. And…they might have one of the five valuable discount snowflakes we’ve hidden with your chance to win that day.

If the authors are running additional contests, take advantage for additional ways to win throughout the month.

I have another freebie review for ya! I’ve got a few more freebies, too – one story and two novels – so check back sometime. I did a big Ellora’s Cave haul of their free stuff after reading Love Machine and got carried away. 😉

So, this little gem was about an urban zombie myth coming to life for one lucky (or unlucky?!) journalist. Here’s the blurb:

The Boston Public Library is lonely in the middle of a snow storm, but Hayden isn’t going anywhere until he gets what he wants—information he can use for a tabloid newspaper article he’s writing. A book on zombie sex rituals promises exactly what he needs to please his boss, who’s convinced the undead are roaming the streets.

Hayden’s been buried in research for so long, he can’t resist the urgent, sexual advances of the smudgy-eyed girl in tattered tights who climbs in through the library window. But is she human, something conjured by his imagination…or a zombie in need of human flesh?

I just love that Boston accent. When you read this make sure you imagine the accent, it’s a hoot!

This was really something different, seeing as I’ve never considered a zombie to be anything remotely sexual. Well, there was this one horror story I read about a zombie used as an undead sex toy, but just writing that sentence makes me feel like a bit of a creep, so we’ll leave that one there.

It was nice to get away from shape-shifters, vampires and contemporaries for li’l while and read something outside the box, so if you’re looking to try something new and quick I’d definitely recommend it!

The sex scene was OK, but I did sorta long for more of it. I like to have two or three sexual encounters in any reading sitting you see, HAH. But that’s just me. Sometimes the story doesn’t call for it, and there’s certainly no point in injecting scene after scene for no reason – that’s boring. Sex should always be important.

There were a few errors, which I definitely think happened in the editing process. A couple of words were switched around, and there was a missing letter, but that’s all. I can live with that. There’s also the unexplained notion that zombies can choose to live off flesh or sex, which seems a little bit far-fetched to me. That could’ve been explained a little more. What does sex give them exactly, some magic power to stop rotting? Who knows! (But I hope so, or else ew!)

I felt like there could’ve been more to it, and that all possibilities were not explored. All in all, it was just a bit of fun, and a li’l bit spooky too. I enjoyed it! 🙂

Get it here!

In other news:

  • I just finished accepting the editor’s edits and made some changes of my own for A Pre-Date Encounter which is coming out with Silver Publishing in the new year, so yaay!
  • I’ve got a few stories out on submission right now, including a possible series which I’m very eager and excited to get out there.
  • Got some amazing inspiration from a documentary about Japanese host clubs and its affect on both the hosts and their clients. Really, really interesting stuff.

REVIEW: First Taste, Paisley Smith (Ellora’s Cave Publishing)

Published August 2, 2012 by ellenheights

I’m all over Ellora’s Cave right now! I’ll be reviewing three other freebie stories of theirs, so do check back. I’ll also be selecting from some other delectable publishing venues, but hey…EC does have a huge selection, no?

First Taste by Paisley Smith was a sexy little short story about two girls hitting it off after a long time apart: one girl’s journey towards coming out of the closet and, most importantly, accepting herself.

I’m familiar with Paisley already because our work was featured together in Girls Who Bite, though I was writing under a different name then. Madeline was my first lesbian short story and, indeed, my first ever erotic piece. Getting published in that anthology was certainly my first taste (hah-hah!), and after some careful thinking I revisited romance and erotica to find that once I’d popped I couldn’t stop.

Incidentally, Madeline is also about a former lesbian couple who lost touch after becoming vampires. Lilly felt ashamed of her new affliction, where as feisty Maddie was all set to embrace her dark side. So naturally, when I saw what Paisley’s story was about (and that it was FREEEE!) I just had to check out her take on two girls rekindling their love.

Boy, did she make my story look vanilla!

Fast paced and oozing with ifs-but’s-and-“Oooh I don’t knooows!” Paisley delivers a convincing divorcee protagonist coming to terms with her true self.

But it wasn’t until I met the strap-on butt-o-meter (yep, she goes there! But it isn’t called that, I’m just being silly.) that things get really, really serious. Not only does Natalie have to face her fear of meeting Haley, then satisfying Haley, then confessing her love for Haley…But she has to take control of a male appendage too!

Then there’s bracing herself for what that colossal protrusion does to her. Natalie must find the confidence to satisfy Haley by methods never experienced before, making her a very brave and relatable lead for anyone who’s ever been afraid of uncharted sexual territory.

This was a quick, delightful bedtime read. I think Paisley did a great job of using erotica as a vehicle to explore the complications of sexuality, relationships and battling our inner demons. Fantabulousa!

…Yes, that is a word. Because I say it is, dag-nabbit! (I bet you never knew British girls spoke like that didya, huh?)
